Make up brushes and laundry soap. Who knew?

It takes a hot minute to look at any of my pics to know I am not a beauty expert. Even when I post a half decent pic I usually get a ping on my phone with a message from my sister letting me know that my eyebrows are uneven yet again. ( That's what are sisters for right?)  Where I lack in applying make up, I compensate for knowing how to remove it (just water and a cloth).  I was recently reading about the amount of bacteria found on make up brushes and once I was done I had a Jimmy Fallon moment and went " eww".

Fortunately I know a little cleaning hack for this problem. It's a little bag of laundry soap I keep on my Washing machine. I have been using the Norwex Ultra Power Plus detergent to clean my make up brushes and sponges for about a year now. Just a small pinch in a bowl of warm water and I let the brushes soak for a few minutes before I begin to swirl the brushes and gently rub the bristles in my hands. Because UPP ( Ultra Power Plus) does not contain fillers I'm not worried about pieces of detergent sticking to the brushes or being clogged into my sponge.

Once I rinse off the brushes I use a damp Envirocloth to wipe the handles down. The Envirocloth is also great for cleaning off the gunk on your eyelash curlers as well! The great part is that the Envirocloth can remove up to 99% of the bacteria off when I follow proper care and instruction. Norwex has a 4 pack of the travel Envirocloths and I am finding they are the perfect size for wiping everything down. They are about 1/4th the size of a regular Envirocloth and that makes them more manageable. As always these products are available at my online store!

But I want it to "smell" clean, sniffing out the truth.

"Will it smell clean?"  It's the question I've been asked when I first show people how to clean with just water. Why? Because we have been led to believe that something must SMELL chemically clean in order to BE clean. Unfortunately many fragrances used in our cleaning and laundry products often contain toxic ingredients, these ingredients all add up to an unhealthy chemical soup.  Just grab your dryer sheets or fabric softeners and look at some of the ingredients listed!  Mind you not everything IS listed but, you get the picture. These chemicals can trigger allergy and asthma reactions and for some it worsens their asthma. The "American Academy of Allergy & Asthma" states that in the U.S. alone 1 in every 10 children now deal with Asthma. Unfortunately the trend shows that those statistics will continue to increase, as they have over the last several decades. There are indications that chemical fragrances can actually cause a healthy person to develop allergies and asthma! That's a heavy exchange just to have something "smell clean." Chemical fragrances not only affect your lungs, but your skin, reproductive system and more! Look at the chart below from fairladyhealth.com

There are studies showing the direct health impact these chemicals have on adults and children. We may wonder why these products continue to be sold with such damaging health impacts but, we know that as long as companies are making money from these products, they will continue to sell them!

The good news is that when we know better, we can do better. That means we can make an impact by changing which products we use. Sure, I will absolutely encourage you to clean with just water when you can or to use our cleaning products ,which are 100% biodegradable.  But, you can also check out different websites like the Environmental Working Group and Thinkdirty.com . They independently rate many personal care and cleaning products.

In fact, they have an article that goes into depth about the health impact of synthetic fragrances.  I highly recommend you check it out!

Remember!

Love it enough to share it! Becoming a Consultant

I don't keep it a secret that I joined Norwex as a discount buyer!

I intended to simply maintain my discount by placing $250 retail every 3-6 months. (yes, it is THAT easy) But, as time ensued I saw the benefit of showing people how to clean with just water! Especially when I realized how much time and money we were saving each month!

What started as a "hobby" quickly developed into a business. So, now I not only show people our products but, I also share the amazing opportunity!

The process of joining Norwex is straight forward. It is free to join, you simply pay $9.99 for the shipping and handling of your kit. Your kit includes all that is pictured below! This kit is valued at over $280!

You can earn your kit for FREE by meeting the sales goal of $2,000 in 90 days. That equates to having around 3-4 parties in that time frame. (YES, FB parties are great as well!)
OR

Speaking of commission, we earn 35% from day one!

This is YOUR business!

Another benefit of planning 3-4 parties in that time frame is the opportunity to earn an additional $700 in FREE product!
